“As Worlds Divide” is a fascinating documentary by Australian Photographer, Rob Henry. His film highlights the tribal people indigenous to the Mentawai Islands of West Sumatra.

These islands are regularly visited by many Australian surfers for the excellent surf there, but what is not so well known is the story of the indigenous tribal cultures that exists in this remote part of Indonesia.

These unique Indigenous groups are under severe pressure from the modern world to the point where their culture, languages, rain forest homes and way of life are on the verge of being destroyed for ever, leaving a culture “lost” in their own environment.
As part of an initiative to expand awareness of the issue, IEF (The Indonesian, Indigenous Education Foundation) is showing the Film at various community & private locations around Australia in October, with help from volunteers and community groups like North Steyne SLSC, providing the venues.

Quite simply if you watch this film, you will help save a culture!

Please be a part of this special event on Friday, 6th of October 2017.
