A small but determined Masters team from North Steyne pulled on the Club caps and headed north to Swansea for the 2025/2026 State Championships — and returned with outstanding results.

Caroline Yarnell continued her dominant form in the 1km Sand Run, claiming Gold and retaining her status as the event’s champion. We wish Caroline all the best as she continues her campaign at the upcoming Nationals in Kirra later this March.

Also quietly putting together an impressive weekend was Sarah Lally, who competed across a number of events in the 40–44 Female division and came away with strong results:

2nd – 2km Run
2nd – Ironperson
2nd – Ski Race
4th – Board Race

The Masters boat crew, Defibs (240 Male), came prepared for challenging conditions. With storms and lightning rolling in, they were fortunate to complete one row before the weather forced the cancellation of the remaining events for the day. Final results were therefore determined by the first row around the cans.

After finishing first in their heat, the crew secured Gold in the 240 Male division — a fantastic result under difficult conditions.
