A new Board was appointed at the North Steyne Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 20 July 2025. Many of last season’s Board members are returning, and we also welcome and congratulate some new Directors and Assistants.
All Board members contribute many hours to ensuring the Club properly functions. This includes taking care of all administration and financial duties, putting together a calendar of events, running key activities, looking after the building and, of course, ensuring our lifesaving responsibilities are carried out in our strong North Steyne tradition.

Thank you to the Board members Dave Guthrie and Jack Watt who retired at the AGM and have contributed their valuable time and energy to North Steyne over the past season. Dave Guthrie was our Club Captain for the past 2 seasons. Dave made a number of improvements to our operations during his tenure and not only expertly managed our patrols, but ensured our major events were run extremely professionally and without incident. He devoted his time, passion and energy to keep people safe on our beach.
Jack Watt has been the Youth Director this past season. He is a role model for many of our younger members and contributes in many ways to the Club. This included establishing a relationship with a surf club in Costa Rica – taking our traditions once again offshore and sharing our culture with others.
