And thatโ€™s a wrap for season 2021-22! We had a great season and this was thanks to our fantastic team of age managers, parent helpers, coaches, water safety, sponsors, BBQ crew, carnival referees and officials โ€“ we couldnโ€™t have done it without you. Big Thanks!

There was a great turnout for our nipper presentation day held on Sunday 20th March at the Club with the awards presented by VIP guests and club legends including Keith Abraham and Frank Traugott. Each age group from U9 to U14 were celebrated and presented with awards by their age managers.

Best Competitor awards were presented to Charlie Walker and Felix Stephens by North Steyne Patron Jean Hay and Des McAteer, Balgowlah RSL President,  recognising their achievements at carnivals throughout the season.

The Chairmanโ€™s awards were presented by Nipper Director, Bernie Burrows to Tomi Crofton and Sofia Delmar with the prizes of a mountain bike each courtesy of Andrew Taylor of the Brookvale Bike Factory who has been a great supporter of North Steyne over the years.

Coaches awards โ€“ Our brilliant coaches Tom Bedingfield (water) and Rubin Ruzicka (beach) awarded Addison Burrows and Albie Watt respectively for their skills and performance over the season. North Steyneโ€™s performance at carnivals has been outstanding this season and we thank Tom  and Rubin for their work with our nippers.

The โ€˜No Guts No Gloryโ€™ award recognises a nipper who never gives up no matter what and was this year presented to Lukas Towsin-Brant by Candy Bingham, Deputy Mayor, Northern Beaches Council and Kevin Kehoe, Age Manager.

The outgoing Junior Club Captain, Kaea  Phillips handed over the flag to the incoming Junior Club Captains: Eva Haughton and Charlie Colwell. These outstanding nippers will be representing the club and working to achieve their Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC) next season.

A moment of thanks and recognition to the Coaches and Nipper Leadership Team, pictured below. Their incredible efforts and organisational skills make each Sunday Nippers a success, plus the invaluable time put into training and carnivals, our Nipper families are very lucky to have such an incredible team.

The afternoon finished off with a compilation of photos taken during the season by parents and our resident photographer David Sawyer.

Thanks everyone for attending and we look forward to seeing you all back on North Steyne Beach in September!!
