Norah Head Nipper Camp 2024

What an incredible weekend!
Watching the kids push themselves, from our energetic U6s to our elite State-level competitors, was great to see.
Kudos to all the kids for giving it their all, overcoming challenges, and most importantly, having fun.

Of course, camps like this don’t run as smoothly as this one without a massive team effort. So, bear with me as I extend a few well-deserved thank-yous:

• To all the families who took turns on the kitchen roster and kept everyone well-fed. When the kids are as active as they were, keeping them fueled is essential. Your help was greatly appreciated!

• To the amazing “orange army” of water safety volunteers. Without your hard work, the kids wouldn’t have had the fantastic water experience they did. A special shoutout to Mark Lancaster and Stu Crofton, who worked as water safety supervisors, scouting out the best beaches each morning for training. They were on the road before anyone else was up, ensuring the kids had the safest and most fun environment possible.

• To the parents, it was wonderful spending time with such a lovely group. You shuttled the kids, moved equipment, and stayed on top of the schedule. You also gave the water safety team the space to guide, encourage, and support the kids as they faced challenges in the water—thank you for your patience and trust.

• A big thank you to our coaches Harrison and Tom. Harrison, in particular, put in a tremendous amount of behind-the-scenes work to create the training plan and help our competitors define their goals.

Finally, the biggest thank you goes to Lyndsay and Amanda. These two superstars organized the entire camp—from planning and admin (and there’s a lot of that!) to shopping, accommodation arrangements, and coordinating with Soldiers Beach Surf Club. The camp’s success is a direct result of their tireless work.
THANK YOU!
