Creating better facilities to service our members and the community
The North Steyne Surf Life Saving Club originated as a founding club back in 1907 and has had three clubhouses since its inception. The existing clubhouse dates back to 1934 and has had many additions and changes over the years. This includes ‘saving’ the club after vicious storms and high seas that nearly saw the loss of the ‘only club upon the beach’ on the Northern Beaches. The North Steyne Surf Life Saving Club Building Fund was established in early 2010 by funds raised by the Marketing Panel to create a sister fund to North Steyne Surf Life Saving Club Future Fund.
The Objective
To give members and non-members alike the option to donate specifically to a fund that will improve and enhance the club premises. To influence and give help to securing government and non government Building Fund Grants.
The Purpose
To enable funding for planning, renovating, replacement, upgrade and rebuilding of any Club Premises to ensure the best possible outcomes for the members both with the construction, aesthetics and viability.
The Building Committee
The committee is made up of a minimum of four members – one Chairman or Deputy Chairman, one Life Member, two Club Members with 5 years service and one Honorary Advisor. Each SPF Committee Member must sign a Statement advising of any interests (pecuniary and non pecuniary).
The Committee is collectively responsible for the investment decisions relating to this North Steyne Surf Life Saving Club Building Fund Special Purpose Funds (SPF). It is responsible for the development of recommendations, building implementation, records and reports directly to the Board of Directors.
Donations
The North Steyne Surf Life Saving Club Building Fund offers members, families, trusts and organisations the opportunity to contribute to our building amenities and its facilities for future generations of members within our surf club and local communities. Donations can be made to the club online or in person. The funds will be invested into this fund within 2 weeks of receipt by the club.
We have a dedicated team to work closely with interested donors giving $10,000 or more, to help them advance their philanthropic goals. We are happy to discuss funding options and ensure that major gifts are allocated according to our supporters’ wishes.
