PROFICIENCY SWIMS

Proficiency swims are a crucial aspect of our Nippers program at North Steyne. We want to provide the safest possible environment for our young members, ensuring they have the necessary skills to enjoy water activities and compete in carnivals with confidence.

Why Are Proficiency Swims Important?

Proficiency swims are essential because they serve as a measure of a nipper’s water competency. Without passing the required proficiency swim assessment, nippers will be unable to participate in water activities during our Sunday Nippers sessions or take part in inter club beach or water carnivals.

Assessment Process

At the start of each season, we conduct multiple proficiency swim assessments to accredit our nippers. These assessments are witnessed by North Steyne board-approved assessors.
