North Steyne is a heritage listed surf club and we will be open on Saturday, 5 May to celebrate our heritage status as part of the Australian Heritage Festival. North Steyne is the oldest active club on the Northern Beaches, and one of the oldest surf lifesaving clubs in Australia.
Join us from 10am-2pm for:
• Historic displays – and see important memorabilia
• Talks – about the amazing history of North Steyne
• Guided Tours – to learn about the building and how is survived during WWII
• Rescue demonstrations – a real reel demonstration
Special guest Rochelle Nicholls, author of Hell and High Water, will be there to speak about our famous member Cecil Healy.
Refreshments will be available and there will be a sausage sizzle.
Freshwater SLSC and Newport SLSC will also be open as part of this festival.
