The 114th AGM was held last Sunday 8th August online via zoom where a new Board of Directors for the upcoming season was elected and the Season 2020-21 Annual Report was presented and accepted.
The new Board ticks all the boxes for good corporate governance to best represent our members! There is a wealth of talent and experience blended with new ideas, skills and enthusiasm. Five of the 21 elected positions (including assistants) are new to the Board, 14 have been a Director of the club before (stability and experience), 10 (48%) are female (Gender Diversity), youngest is 19 and oldest is 84 years (Age Diversity).
Chris Gibbs Stewart returns as President, undeterred by the challenges of COVID-19.
George van Dyck steps up to take on the Treasurer role and Jack Watt to be Club Captain. Dan Hillier and Brian Mariotti are broadening their skills by changing portfolios. Bernie Burrows (is stepping up and returning), Shannon Job, Kyra Jenkins and David Guthrie are returning to the Board having previously been a Director.
We welcome new faces in assistant roles – Ally Stirling, Simon Herfort, Freya O’Neill and Olivia Penny. The others are continuing in last season’s positions.
Special thanks to Tony Falzarano who is leaving after 5 years as Treasurer. Thanks also to all those not continuing, Trae Hare Boyd, Hanna Clare, Alex Salier, Jo Cooper and Janice Faaolatane.
We also are pleased to say we have a lot of experience returning on our committees.
