North Steyne Building Upgrade – Have Your Say

webadmin Homepage news, News

The North Steyne Board has embarked on a project to renovate the club building and would like to hear your thoughts about how we can improve the building for the benefit of our members.

The existing building is the second to stand on the site and was built in 1934, extended in the 1960’s and further modified since then. Member numbers have grown from less than 200 in the 1920’s to about 800 members this season. There have been significant changes to surf lifesaving and society since its construction such as the inclusion of women members, the advent of nippers and developments in life saving techniques and equipment.

The club building needs an urgent upgrade to provide modern facilities and to accommodate the number of members and the range of activities undertaken by the club.

Please complete this short survey by clicking here. If you could do so by Monday 10th February.

Responses are anonymous and will be used to help guide the development of a masterplan for the building which will be presented at the AGM on Sunday, 26 July 2020.

If you would like to speak to someone about the building project to provide your thoughts on improvements needed, please email the President to set up a time.
