Rewards for Awards

We love to see our membership challenge themselves. Surf Lifesaving offers a host of opportunities to expand your skill set and access unique experiences no other environment can deliver. North Steyne will support any aspiration in your lifesaving journey, whether you want to drive around in the IRB, become an expert in First Aid, learn to become a Patrol Captain or begin training the club’s future Lifesavers.

Below are the pieces of apparel the club will provide our members who complete certain awards.

  • Bronze Medallion All members who complete their Bronze Medallion and are rostered onto patrol shall receive in addition to their required patrol uniform:
    1. A peaked SLS cap. 
    2. A whistle. 
    3. A pocket resuscitation mask. 

Members who have already achieved their SRC will not be given the above items again, unless they need to be replaced due to normal wear and tear.

  • SRC All members who complete their SRC, and are rostered onto patrol shall receive in addition to their patrol uniform:
    1. A peaked SLS cap.
    2. A whistle.
    3. A pocket resuscitation mask.
    • ARTC All members who complete their ARTC shall receive:
      1. An SLS bumbag, or
      2. A SLS Patrol Hoodie
      • IRB Crew All members who complete their IRBC shall receive:
        1. A SLS patrol hoodie
        • IRB Driver All members who complete their IRBD award shall receive:
          1.  a ‘Surf Rescue’ rash shirt.
          • Beach Management All members who complete their BM shall receive:
            1. A straw SLS full brim hat
            • Training Officer Certificate All members who complete their Training Officer certificate shall receive:
              1. A Training Officer rash-shirt.
              2. A Training Officer polo-shirt.

            Funding

            1. The delivery of the Incentive Scheme will be the responsibility of the Chief Instructor
            2. Funds will be made available for ordering by the Treasurer and receipts will be treated as in 23.b. of the NSSLSC Constitution

            Ordering and Distribution

            1. The Trainer in charge of the course will inform the Chief Instructor at the earliest convenience of the items required
            2. The distribution of Incentive Scheme items will be done only after the member has successfully completed their assessment.
