The Surf Sports 2021/2022 season has officially ended this past weekend after a successful “Aussies” campaign by the North Steyne team at the SLSA National Championships. We had over thirty members representing North Steyne in these championships and we are super proud of them all.

North Steyne was again well represented in the lifesaving competition by Deb Foote, Kyra Jenkins, Shannon Job, Sarah Lally, Lachlan Van Der Pluijm and Jack Watt, with special mention to young Charlie Colwell and Oli Crofton for donning the black & gold cap for their first go at Aussies in the Youth Championships.

North Steyne had five (5) Surfboat teams competing: The Shenanigans (U23 Female), The Outlaws (U23 Male), The Ned’s (Open Male), the Penguins (Masters Female) and the Watermen (Masters Male); incredible efforts by all, with Sweeps Col Stanford and Dave Maguire leading the charge in challenging conditions at North Kirra beach.

Congratulations to all our members for representing North Steyne at a national level with good sportsmanship, and in particular, special mention to the following members/teams for their outstanding achievements:
