We had a great season, and this was thanks to our fantastic team of age managers, parent helpers, coaches, water safety, sponsors, BBQ crew, carnival referees and officials – we couldn’t have done it without you. Big Thanks!
There was a great turnout for our nipper presentation day held yesterday at the Club with the awards presented by VIP Guests.
The outgoing Junior Club Captains, Eva Haughton & Charlie Colwell handed over the flag to the incoming 2023/24 Junior Club Captains: Sieanna Omondi and Tomi Crofton.
The ‘No Guts No Glory’ award recognises a nipper who never gives up no matter what and was this year presented to Aiden Wallis by Graham Stone, Balgowlah RSL.
Coach’s awards – Our brilliant coaches awarded Charlie Colwell and Freja Badstue respectively for their skills and performance over the season. North Steyne’s performance at carnivals has been outstanding this season and we thank Tom, Harrison, Chris and Rubin for their work with our nippers.
Water Competitors of the Year –Hugo Collins and Zoe Lancaster presented by Club Sponsor Greg Bennett, Bennett Surfboards
Beach Competitors of the Year – Zoe Anderhov and Caden Badstue presented by Jean Hay, Club Patron
Chris Dooley Age Manager Award – awarded to Ronan Maguire presented by Sue Heins Deputy Mayor
Overall Best Competitor awards were presented to Flori Pennie and Felix Stephens by James Griffin Member of Manly, recognising their achievements at carnivals throughout the season.
The Chairman’s awards were presented by Assistant Nipper Director, Simon Herfort to Harvey Collins and Addison Burrows with the prizes of a mountain bike each courtesy of Andrew Taylor of the Brookvale Bike Factory who has been a great supporter of Nippers over the years.
Congratulations to all Nippers who were awarded individual awards in the U9 – U13 age groups! Job well done!
